I had the greatest pleasure of assisting my dear friend Luís Calçada on the VJ deck at ESO Supernova in Munich, Garching. After the sun set, we started this journey into space for a full immersive experience. All the visuals I am showcasing here were created by myself, using TouchDesigner. They were performed live and in real time on the dome. It still feels like a fever dream, but noooo, this really happened, ohmygawd.
*I am so so sorry for the bad video quality.
This is a record of the TouchDesigner patch. I created this artwork for the planetarium, inspired by the fisheye shape of the dome, to do something that feels like an immersive shower of light and energy. So it ended up with this rush of fibers. I built the foundation of the visuals using specific techniques from the TouchDesigner artist Pali, and then spun it to my own visions and ideas. I am really happy with how well it worked live and in real time, I could control it manually to the music so it danced and flew around softly, achieving exactly the effect I desired: a shower of light and energy.
