⬤ Christina Gerg is a Berlin and Munich based multimedia artist working across photography, video installations, and new media. Her work transforms light, texture, and motion into immersive visual poetry, exploring how abstract forms can evoke sensory perception in contemporary space.
Gerg grew up in the depth of Bavaria, at the foot of the alps, in a traditional farm, surrounded by the woods. Since she was a child, nature has been her biggest source of inspiration and teacher, such as the communication between the unseen, between the rivers, the trees, the fields, the animals, the flowers, the plants. She understood in her young age, language is not a matter of words. Being partially deaf since birth, she developed a sensitivity to non-verbal communication, observation and inner perception. This sharpened her intuition and shaped a way of connecting with the world surround.
Her artistic work draws inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow, and the shifting perspectives that evolves within these dualities. By blending analog and digital techniques, including traditional photography and experimental tools such as TouchDesigner, she creates artworks that challenge conventional boundaries, collaborating with a diverse network of artists.
Gerg graduated in 2018 with a Diploma in photography and graphic design.
