This artwork was created as part of a masterclass at THE NODE INSTITUTE during the Summer Semester of 2024 for an immersive audiovisual show hosted by the one and only Stefan Kraus.

We screened the work at the Kunstkraftwerk in Leipzig. The work was focused on the theme of Climate Change.

For my piece, I created a 360-degree mycelium network, inspired by the fascinating way trees communicate through this underground system. My inspiration came from Peter Wohlleben’s book The Hidden Life of Trees and the research of Sophie Strand.

Notes: ✨ Mycelium speaks in chemical messengers. It weaves its messages through the roots of trees, through a fungal network, connecting the old with the young. In a world that is restless, the mycelium moves slowly. It listens. It responds. It thinks in cycles rather than lines. Maybe within this quiet and intelligent language lies the key to another way of being, one that is not built on division, but on shared knowledge, on mutual care. ✨

The visuals are made in TouchDesigner.
